Featured Spotlight FEATURED SPOTLIGHT Harbir Kaur, ElderCare Rights Alliance
Harbir Kaur, M.A., exemplifies dedication to clients and the human services field through her role as the Director of Elder Victim Services at ElderCare Rights Alliance. Ms. Kaur has over 13 years of extensive and diverse experience in family violence prevention, related social services, and as an Overnight Family Advocate for Harriet Tubman Alliance. She has conducted outreach and educational programs for academic departments at Hamline University, Metro State University, Concordia College and the University of Minnesota. She published a booklet on South Asian cultures and family violence to create awareness with communities through training and education. Ms. Kaur has an M.A. in Social Science with a focus on the Social Sciences and Spirituality from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Ms. Harbir provides one-on-one advocacy for elders who are victims of elder abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation. She educates law enforcement, health professionals, and community members on elder abuse and neglect awareness, and prevention and intervention strategies. Ms. Harbir’s colleagues recognize her dedication to the rights of all human kind, her spirituality and her unending desire to stop injustice to women, seniors and vulnerable adults. Ms. Harbir goes above and beyond to provide valuable services to an ever increasing number of victims without assistance.
ElderCare Rights Alliance promotes individualized, respectful, safe and healthy care for Minnesota's vulnerable adults and the aging population. ElderCare Rights Alliance offers guidance, advocacy, and education to families, community members, elders, and professionals. ECRA offer solutions, awareness, and prevention strategies regarding elder care and safety issues. ECRA provides confidential services for victims of elder abuse.
