MSSA works hard to be sure your voice is heard at the State Capitol.

· MSSA has a strong voice in influencing legislative action.

· Opportunities for face-to-face meetings with legislators.

· MSSA represents a diversity within the human service delivery system—public and private sectors, statewide, commissioners, directors, direct line staff, social workers, financial workers and more.

· MSSA serves as facilitator of public and private discussions regarding specific issues.

· MSSA offers electronic “Legislative Alerts” during the legislative session.

· MSSA provides an opportunity to integrate public and private agencies on legislative issues.

· MSSA believes we are a primary recognized source of information on human services issues at the state legislature. We believe MSSA will has a public policy program that is holistic, pro-active, statewide, and year round.
